CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – As a part of The Y’s mission to provide health and wellness options for the community, the YMCA of Harrison County has added massage therapy to its list of amenities.
The Harrison County YMCA recently finished renovating one of its racquetball courts into a new massage therapy wing.
Kelly Shuman is a licensed massage therapist at The Y. She says the Y’s philosophy of promoting healthy lifestyle choices makes massage therapy a perfect fit.
“From helping with aches and pains, to helping with mental anxiety and calming and stress,” Shuman said. “Everyone likes a pat on the back. The muscles are no different. You can relax the muscles, thank them for their work, and you’re able to work more.”
The therapy is available for both members and non-members alike.
Pricing for the therapy starts at $40 for one half hour, and $70 for a full hour. Also available are Swedish, deep tissue, prenatal and hot stone massages. To set up an appointment you can call 304-623-3303 to reach the main desk. Or you can go to their website at www.harrisoncountyymca.org for more information on what is offered.
