CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources confirmed 416 new COVID-19 cases and 19 additional deaths in its report on Tuesday.
The DHHR confirmed 398 new COVID-19 cases and two additional deaths in its report on Monday.
The report from the DHHR stated that as of 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, there have been a total of 2,007,316 (+8,021) laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 125,522 (+416) total cases and 2,150 (+19) of those cases resulting in deaths.

The DHHR has confirmed the deaths of a 63-year old female from Marion County, an 82-year old female from Marion County, a 65-year old female from Jackson County, a 64-year old male from Doddridge County, a 68-year old female from Wood County, a 69-year old male from Cabell County, an 82-year old female from Logan County, an 81-year old female from Barbour County, a 77-year old male from Cabell County, a 66-year old female from Logan County, a 90-year old female from Mercer County, a 79-year old male from Mercer County, an 85-year old female from Kanawha County, an 83-year old female from Barbour County, a 73-year old male from Mercer County, a 64-year old male from Raleigh County, a 64-year old female from Mercer County, a 96-year old female from Raleigh County, and a 91-year old male from Pendleton County.

According to the DHHR’s COVID-19 dashboard, there are currently 14,756 (-801) active cases and 108,616 (+1,198) recovered cases in the state.

*Note – Please note that delays may be experienced with the reporting of information from the local health department to DHHR. As case surveillance continues at the local health department level, it may reveal that those tested in a certain county may not be a resident of that county, or even the state as an individual in question may have crossed the state border to be tested. Such is the case of Barbour, Brooke, and Preston counties in this report.

According to the dashboard, as of Tuesday morning, 221,347 (+1,455) first doses of the vaccine have been administered, and 108,870 (+2,981) people have been fully vaccinated.
