Randolph County schools host vaccination clinics for students

Valley Health Care of Elkins has been traveling throughout Randolph County offering vaccination clinics to middle and high school students.

Elkins Middle School hosted the clinic for students who are moving from sixth to seventh-grade and may need a wellness check and booster shots. Officials said the clinic makes it easier for students to be seen before the school year ends.

“It’s an easier way. Instead of parents having to come take their children to the doctor and missing school, they can just sign the consent form, and we can give them their seventh-grade vaccinations here,” said Chelsea Reed, LPN.

School Based Health Clinics are a doctor’s office inside the schools. The goal is to encourage early intervention and prevention through availability and education.
