The Barbour Community Health Association is celebrating 10 years of healthy success.
The health association held its annual P.A.N.I.C. program at Belington Middle School.
P.A.N.I.C. stands for Physical Activity and Nutrition in the Community, and that’s exactly what is practiced at this gathering.
Chief operations officer, Debbie Schoonover, said this was the first day of the six-week program happening every Monday.
“Each night we have a different exercise, which lasts for 45 minutes,” Schoonover said. “It can be anything from yoga Thai Chi, to dancing, walking and different things like that.”
After the fitness portion of the night the members gather for a 30-minute educational session on a different health topic every week relevant to the community.
The P.A.N.I.C. program is open to the public and will be held every Monday from 6-8 p.m. for the next five weeks at Belington Middle School.
