United Hospital Center will be hosting a traveling banner exhibit from the National Library of Medicine over the next few weeks. The exhibit is called “Life and Limb: The Toll of the Civil War.”
The exhibit describes the damage caused by weapons of the time, the treatment of wombs and the health consequences for those that survived.
“For the time, with no anesthesia and sawing off bones with a saw to the robotics that we have and the different things we have. It’s awesome to see how far we have come,” said Denise Steffich, auxiliary coordinator.
The exhibit will be on display on the first floor of UHC until January 27.
