Managing diabetes comes with a lot of work but United Hospital Center wants to help patients get on the right foot.
Besides becoming educated on checking your blood sugar and balancing your diet, UHC said its important to check your feet too.
The WVU Home Medical Equipment store in Bridgeport now carries footwear for diabetics. The store offers a wide selection and says that this footwear isn’t like the old days.
“There are shoes here for the person who is trying to be athletic and sports oriented. There are other shoes that are a little bit more structured and leather for those that need a little bit more of that for their workplace,” said Sue Faloon, certified fitter.
The shoes are not just for diabetics but anyone with orthopedic issues.
