CLARKSBURG, W.Va.- The kindness of a police sergeant in Clarksburg, West Virginia, captured on camera in a still photograph, is spreading like wildfire on social media.

The photo shows Sgt. Chris Harris comforting a child after a vehicle accident on Route 50 in Clarksburg Wednesday afternoon.

Clarksburg Police Chief Robert Hilliard said, Sgt. Harris was heading home after his shift, when he witnessed the accident at the intersection near Bridgeport Hill.

When Sgt. Harris got out of his car, he heard children screaming, and didn’t think twice about comforting the children until EMS arrived on scene, said Chief Hilliard.
