BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – High school students across three counties got the chance to meet with potential employers on Friday as the Fred W. Eberle Technical Center held its annual job fair in Buckhannon on Friday.
The technical center offers certificates in many programs including carpentry, cosmetology and electrician training. A total of 28 employers attend the job fair.
“Collaboration is an absolute must. You need to know first of all the people you’re going to be working with,” said career coach Rachel Smarr. “It’s one thing to know the trade, but you need to know who you’re working with. You need to know more about your community and how you’re going to be able to serve them better. It’s more than just come in and clock in and get paid.”
The technical center serves Lewis, Barbour and Upshur County students, along with any adult who wishes to attend.
