The 13th annual West Virginia State Leadership Conference started Monday in Lewis County.
Students from nearly all two and four year schools in the state have been at the conference, with all attendees in student government at their schools.
One of the main focuses this year is on community service.
The students will volunteer throughout the region during the conference.
One school official said it’s all about exchanging ideas to make each school’s community better.
“I think when you bring students together from around the state, they learn about what their peers are doing on their respective campuses and get ideas and exchange information and figure out how they could make a difference on their own campus,” said Thomas Segar of Shepherd University.
The conference will run through Wednesday, May 16.
