WESTON, W.Va. – An area country club has reopened its doors this year after being closed for a year.
The Deerfield Country Club near Jackson’s Mill opened last month, after some of the original founders came together to refurbish the club’s equipment and spruce up the grounds.
Board member Jim Shaver said he wanted to see the club reopened to provide something for the area to enjoy.
“If we lose this, we’ve really got nothing of our own. We’ve got Stonewall Resort, but that’s not for the average person.”
Shaver said the club is also working on providing food and drinks at the clubhouse in the future.
