Governor Jim Justice was in Lewis County Wednesday afternoon to announce a new broadband grant for the area.
The $500,000 Community Development Block Grant will go to expand broadband internet access in southern Lewis County.
Justice said expanding access across the state will help West Virginia compete better in an increasingly digital world.
“The long and short of it is, at least it’s a step in the right direction. You can’t win the game if you don’t play the game, and really in all honesty, that’s what we’re trying to do.”
Justice also presented two other grants to Burnsville and Summersville earlier in the afternoon.
