One area senior center was celebrating veterans in its area with a luncheon Thursday morning.
The Lewis County Senior Center partnered with the Patriot Guard Riders and other groups for a veterans appreciation event in Weston.
Veterans who fought in World War II and those who were POWs were also given special recognition.
Organizers said they want to be sure American veterans get the respect they are due.
“I love our veterans so much, and I get emotional. They’re dear to me, and I want them to know just how much,” said organizer Lori Creighton.
The riders also provided the senior center with a new American flag to replace its older, damaged one.
