Local bridge in Weston is dedicated in the name of fallen Vietnam veteran

Lewis

The Mountaineer Military Museum in Weston welcomed veterans from around the area for a time of respect and to honor fallen Vietnam Marine veteran, Lance Cpl. George W. Henry Jr.

State delegates and local officials were also in attendance to dedicate the former US Route 33 bridge in the name of Cpl. Henry.

“It was great when I finally got the message from him. When I came home from work I looked and seen the bridge was finally named after him. I guess it wasn’t suppose to be, but it was already up. So I had to stop and do a double take and was like oh that is up. So that’s when I contacted everyone to let them know that it was up.” said James Turner, Nephew of George Henry.

Turner said he and his relatives are grateful for the thoughts and concerns of the Weston community and believe that the bridge dedication is just a small way in how Lance Cpl. George W. Henry Jr’s legacy will stay alive.
