Local library expanding offerings for community

Lewis

An area library is making an extra effort to reach out to its community.

The Louis Bennett Public Library in Weston has been holding a variety of different events to invite area residents back to the library.

Those events include regular craft times for parents and children, a reading challenge running all year, and toddler time for kids up to three years old.

They are also offering a LEGO group for students interested in STEM careers.

“It’s very important to bring that into our community and to let kids know you can build LEGOs with your imagination, it doesn’t have to be by what anyone tells you how to build.  So, I think using your imagination is what LEGOs are all about, using your imagination and building what’s in your mind,” said interim library director Katrina Johnson.

Contact the library at (304) 269-5151 for more on the programs it offers.
