Mountaineer Military Museum getting ready to open doors

Another Lewis County attraction will be opening its doors for the year this weekend.

The Mountaineer Military Museum will welcome guests starting on Saturday.

Museum owners Barb and Ron McVaney have been working to upgrade lighting and other features of the museum during their offseason.

They said the new lights will help show off the important work done by American veterans.

“They can see and feel the respect and hard work that’s put into this to show respect and to honor these veterans who have given us everything we have,” said Barb McVaney.

The museum has also replaced some of its exhibits with new artifacts to display.  Doors will open Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
