A new restaurant in Lewis County has been working to highlight food grown nearby.
The Mountain Roots Market Restaurant opened in downtown Weston this week.
The restaurant will feature foods from local growers served cafeteria style.
Visitors can see what is available from a menu that changes daily.
Staff say that attention to nearby producers is one of the most important parts of their food.
“Growing up on a farm, you always had fresh potatoes and fresh green beans, and you didn’t have all those artificial ingredients, and you know, it does taste better,” said Constance Jenkins, Mountain Roots.
The restaurant is open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. each day.
