Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum to host meet the candidates event

WESTON, W.Va. – The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum has partners with a Lewis County High School group for a meet the candidates night.

The Lewis County Young Republicans partnered with the asylum to host the event, which already has 13 of the 15 candidates for city council and mayor committed to attending.

Asylum staff said they were looking for a way to be more involved in their community, and thought the event was a perfect opportunity.

“We wanted to hold some kind of community event at the asylum, and we want to continue to hold community events at the asylum.  I thought this was an excellent opportunity to get folks in from our area,” said Operations Manager Rebecca Jordan Gleason.

Meet the Candidate night at the asylum starts at 6 on Friday, May 10th in the asylum’s main lobby.
