Traveling Vietnam Memorial coming to Lewis County

Lewis

The Jackson’s Mill Jubilee will feature a new attraction when it opens next week.

The Jubilee will host a mobile Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial wall, set to arrive on Friday, August 31.

The wall visits each county in the state once a year, and lists only the names of West Virginians who were lost in that war.

Organizers wanted to bring the wall to the Jubilee to thank the veterans who made the event possible.

“In any battle or any war, West Virginia’s lost several young men.  And so I felt that this would be a good time to honor those,” said Jubilee Vice President Debbie Garrett.

Members of the military will be admitted to the Jubilee free this year, as will veterans with a DD-214.
