Sunday evening the Weston Fairs and Festivals Committee celebrated Weston’s 200th Birthday.
This was held with a Bicentennial opening at the Weston Fire Department.
The Weston Church of God provided cocoa and cookies for the communtiy.
All of the attendees were able to write negatives things from 2017 that they wanted to get rid of before the new year.
“All of the attendees get a little piece of wood and write what they want to get rid of for 2017, looking forward to 2018, and then we brought it out and let them throw it in the fire pit here and, kind of just let it burn off,” said Eric Dever, City Councilman.
The group has been working for over a year to plan the activities for the Bicentennial, and there will be many more held throughout the year.
