Weston receives grant to help keep city clean

Lewis

The city of Weston has received a grant for the third year running to help keep the city neat and clean.

The city was awarded a $1,400 grant from the Department of Environmental Protection to purchase trash cans and pet refuse stations.

They’ve been installed downtown and in area parks for the past two years, and now the city wants to hear about other places residents might think are needed.

“The majority of them are on Main Street and Center. Our parks have them. We may, of course, since Polk Creek Park’s very big, we may put another one there, but we’re still open to suggestions on places to put them,” said Weston City Manager Kristin Droppelman.

Call city hall for suggestions on where to put new cans at (304) 269-6141
