A local city will hold a public meeting to discuss changes to a service fee.
The city of Weston will take comments on a proposal to replace a current B&O tax on apartments in the city with a flat rate fee.
City Manager Kristin Droppleman says the new structure will help streamline operations for the city.
The new measure also adds no extra burden for businesses in the city.
“A lot of the confusion is they think its on business, it’s not. The businesses won’t be affected at all, it’s just strictly on non-owner-occupied residential structures. That’s the big concern. Hopefully we can get that cleared up at the public hearing on Monday,” said Droppleman.
That public hearing will take place on Monday at 6 p.m. at the Weston Fire Department.
