Declaration of Independence read to visitors at Pricketts Fort State Park

On this July 4th, a re-enactor read the Declaration of Independence to visitors at Pricketts Fort State Park.

He offered his thoughts on the importance of the document.

“Probably the most important document in American history, in the history of the United States. It defines who we are. It lists the grievances against Great Britain and the King of England, and push come to shove, enough is enough and we’ve decided to stake our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor to this Declaration of Independence,” said Pricketts Fort Foundation member Larry Spisak.

As part of today’s Independence Day celebration, Pricketts Fort offered veterans and active military half-price admission.
