3rd annual Champagne for SANEs event to be held in April

Monongalia and Preston

The third annual Champagne for SANE nurses event will be held at Table 9 next month.

This is being hosted by the WVU Council for Women’s Concerns and will happen on April 19th, during Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

This is being held to raise funds for the West Virginia Foundation for Rape Information and Services,  Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) training program.

There will be a happy hour event from 5:30 to 8:30 where all proceeds from a signature cocktail and mocktail will benefit the cause.

“Sexual assault nurse examiners are really unsung heroes in our community. A lot of the work that they do is definitely behind closed doors. They don’t necessarily get a lot of praise for what they are able to provide our communities, but they really do provide an essential service in time of crisis for people who are victims of sexual assault or rape,” said Rachel Nieman, Champagne for SANEs Committee.

There will also be a silent auction and raffle with items donated from local businesses.
