Art Monongahela round table explore how art can be used to combat opioid crisis

Monongalia and Preston

An open forum was held in downtown Morgantown to discuss how art can be used to combat the opioid crisis on Wednesday.

Experts in the field met with community members to talk about different therapy and counseling methods involving the arts.

Hosted by Art Monongahela, the forum is part of the month of perspective on the opioid crisis.

“We invited a lot of different experts from various support groups and for us in particular, were hoping that we can discuss the roles that arts can play in recovery, in therapy,” said Jesse Heady, Board member of Arts Mon.

The next event will be ‘Perspectives on the Opioid Crisis’ poetry and narrative readings on March 22.
