Chestnut Ridge Church helps feed the hungry

Monongalia and Preston

Chestnut Ridge Church in Morgantown has been collecting non-perishable foods for the last five weeks for a good cause.

On Saturday, the church loaded up all the donations that they have collected partnering with Mountaineer Food Bank in Gassaway, and Christian Help in Morgantown. The church’s student ministry helped box and load all the goods that the community and church members had donated.

“It was a good chance for us to help folks who are in need. Some people had excess and wanted to help, and so it’s just a great way for us to really extend that helping hand to those in need,” said Jason Allen, Student Ministry Programming Director of Chestnut Ridge Church.

Chestnut Ridge Church said their partnership ensures that people from all over the state that are in need get some food. They say being able to help others fight hunger is a great initiative.
