Christian Help in Morgantown held an annual ‘Prom Chic Boutique’ for local middle and high school teens Friday evening.
The event is to help young men and women who may have otherwise would not be able to attend their formal dances. The organization helps find formal dresses, suits, shoes, accessories and style advice for free.
“This service really helps those who are less privileged as far as money is concerned and people have been very generous in donating things here, Connie and Franc, and others have donated, individuals and even perfumes and colognes, very nice things,” said Amanda Ejimofor, Volunteer Coordinator and Jobs for Life Coordinator.
Last year, 40 teens from Preston and Monongalia County took advantage of the free service. Christian help is asking residents and businesses for donations of prom attire of suits for young men, as well as dress shoes of all sizes.
Christian Help will be at Clay-Battelle High School April 15, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. and after school until 5:30 p.m.
