On Tuesday, Christian Mission Alliance Church of Morgantown held a state police faith based mass shooting seminar.
The seminar showcased the procedures and protocol that state police and law enforcement go through. Between 1999 and 2017, there were 1,665 deadly force incidents at faith-based organizations within the United States, according to law enforcement.
“Just be on watch, be watchful of things including suspicious behaviors and so forth. We’re living in times that we can’t be complacent anymore. So we just have to be very watchful,” said Cpl. Isaac Harmon, West Virginia State Police.
Law enforcement said that the increase of attacks at faith based organizations is because a large crowd is an easy target. Many say there are obstacles to church security and that the church is supposed to trust people.
