Multiple members of the public and council members had comments on the Morgantown city budget at Tuesday’s council meeting.
Council gave a second reading of the proposed annual budget of the city of Morgantown for the 2019-2020 fiscal year and held a public hearing for the budget.
Multiple citizens commented on the transparency of the budget and the use of funds from the proposed city sales tax. Members from the Morgantown Board of Parks and Recreation address council about increasing funds for the city parks, greenspace, and walkways amoung other areas.
Councilman Wallace also had comments regarding the outsourcing of the legal department and moved to amended the budget, which failed in a 4 to 3 vote.
