MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Division of Highways hosted a community meeting at Eastwood Elementary School Monday night to address upcoming road projects in the Morgantown area.
The meeting was held to discuss road reconstruction on both West Run and Van Voorhis roads. Residents were invited to ask questions and discuss disruptions the upcoming project can cause.
“We are a very transparent agency so we like to meet the public and show them what is it we are doing and how it’s going to impact their lives during the construction and how it will improve their life. So, reaching out to the local people, to the citizens that are going to be impacted, the traveling public, is very, very important to us as an agency.” Said Dirar Ahmad, DOH Engineer.
Project details include adding a traffic light at the intersection of West Run and Van Voorhis Road, widening, and improving drainage. Construction is set to start in the fall of 2021 and will cost approximately $11 million.
