MORGANTOWN W.Va – The Greater Morgantown Heart Walk was held Saturday morning at the WVU coliseum.
This was hosted by the American Heart Association.
More than 450 walkers from thirty different companies took part in the walk on Saturday.
Many activities were a part of the event, including face painting for kids, and education on cardiovascular disease.
The American Heart Association recognizes the importance of raising awareness of heart disease.
“Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of all Americans. Stroke is the number five killer of all Americans. One third of West vVrginians that will die this year, will die from either cardiovascular disease or stroke,” said Ryan Jerico, Development Director of American Heart Association.
Organizers exceeded the goal of raising $100,000.00 through this walk.
