Milan Puskar Health Right hosts annual spring benefit

Monongalia and Preston

Milan Puskar Health Right celebrated its 35th anniversary at its annual spring benefit Sunday in Morgantown at the Benton Grove Bed and Breakfast.

The benefit is one way for Milan Puskar Health Right to thank the community and donors while expressing their needs. A presentation of the Margret Kearny Execellence in Volunteerism Award was presented to the family of David Flynn for his service to Milan Puskar Heath Right.

“We have been lucky to have wonderful community support, to provide free healthcare to uninsured, underinsured, and now medicaid patients in our community,” said Laura Jones, Executive Director of Milan Puskar Health Right.

Milan Puskar Health Right said they look for gaps within the healthcare system and they try to find a way to meet the needs of those patients.

“We provide nonjudgmental compassionate care, and we truly believe in the dignity and worth of every person in our community including those who cannot afford health care no matter what their life circumstance might be,” said Jones.

Jones also stated that Milan Puskar Health Right has seen some sad stories of people who have gone a long time without proper healthcare until they find them.
