MORGANTOWN W.Va - Mon health EMS has opened a new EMS station in Monongalia County.
This is located at the Gateway Development off of Chaplin Road in Morgantown.
The EMS station includes a 2-bay garage, kitchenette and day room. The location will provide easier access to the western and northwestern parts of Monongalia County and I-79.
"This is a great location for any incidents that occur on the interstate. We have a quicker response since we're right beside it. We can jump on the interstate either with an ambulance at this location, or eventually in the future, we'll have maybe a rescue truck sitting here that we can respond very quickly down and up 79 and also over to 68 if we have to," said David Custer, Mon Health EMS.
This is a temporary location for crews that would typically have twelve hour shifts to standby at. It does not have bunks or sleeping areas.
