Morgantown High School holds ‘Mohigan Idol’ to raise funds for WVU Medicine Children’s

Morgantown High School’s student government is holding a fundraising event for WVU Medicine Children’s. This will be through a county-wide charity talent show titled Mohigan Idol.

Mohigan Idol is open to all Monongalia County students in grades k-12. The event will be held at the Metropolitan Theater in downtown Morgantown on March 9. Since it’s inception in 2011, Mohigan Idol has donated more than $95,000.00 to WVU Medicine Children’s.

“I think that the best part about this is that there’s not many opportunities at school for everybody to showcase their more artistic talents. You know, you see a lot of sports, but you don’t always see the artistic sides of students. So I think that this opportunity with kids k-12 being able to audition and show off whatever they’re good at and whatever they want to share with the community, but also helping the community, is a really great way to do that,” said Bella Morgano, student body president at Morgantown High School.

More than $17,000.00 has been raised thus far, and students have a goal of raising more than $25,000.00. Those interested can donate to the cause here
