Organization seeks funds from Preston County Commission to purchase office space

Monongalia and Preston

Wednesday morning, a representative from the Denver Water Association attended the Preston County commission meeting.

The purpose was to request funding for a new office building. This is a nonprofit that currently operates out of a residential house.

The organization is currently applying for grants for new water lines to be used for fire suppression and do not have the means to shift funds to this project.

They are asking for $5,994.00.

“This new building will allow us to store extra equipment to keep from having to borrow it from neighboring psd’s and things like that. That way we can fix leaks faster for our community. It would also give them a place to pay a bill. Come with any complaints, any questions. They would be able to call. It is more up to date and friendly for our community,” said Anthony Powell, Denver Water Association.

The small organization is located outside of Tunnelton West Virginia.
