April 17 marked day one for early voting, as polls opened up for the Morgantown city council election.
The 2019 city council race will consist of a total of 14 candidates up for election throughout the seven wards looking to be voted on. Four of the 14 candidates are labeled write-ins, making it a higher write-in average for the city than previous years.
“We have ten official names on the ballot. We have four official write-ins also. So, a lot of folks are asking how do we vote for our write ins. So, called on election day on an early voting we have signage at the polling place and on the poll workers table that that we’ll.” said Christine Wade, city clerk for Morgantown.
