PopShop WV students showcase their talents at Springfest 2018

Monongalia and Preston

Springfest 2018 was held Sunday afternoon at 123 Pleasant Street in Morgantown

This was hosted by PopShop WV, which is a non profit music academy for students of all ages.

23 bands played a variety of songs and genres today, showcasing the hard work they have put in throughout the semester.

The PopShop’s goal is to promote and build up the arts in the area.

All proceeds from this event will benefit the Pantry Plus More store in Monongalia County.

“I think you learn so much in a closed off environment, in a learning classroom environment. But, you learn so much more, when you actually put it out there for other people to react to, and you see feedback immediately. I think it’s really important for these students to see that their hard work is paying off, and that not just their families love them, but everybody in the area loves to see these young students Rock N’ Roll,” said Chris Russell, Executive Director of PopShop WV.

Session 2 begins April 2nd at the former Woodburn Elementary School. Deadline for signup is this Friday, March 23. Sign up here
