KINGWOOD W.Va – Thursday, Preston County commissioners recognized the National Day of Prayer on the courthouse lawn.
A message was given by Michael Charlton, pastor of New Life Ministries in Reedsville. Charlton is also a police officer at the Morgantown Police Department.
He says it is important to pray for strength for leaders and first respondors in the community.
“Just for people to resort back to the true power which is through prayer. That we turn things over to the lord, and the one that can actually, that actually has the power to change things. And we just, prayer ends up being moved so far down on the list, when really we should start with prayer,” said Charlton.
The event concluded with a prayer circle where many community members joined hands.
