Preston County commissioners talked about the latest updates on roads Monday morning.
Officials from the division of highways say that at this point in the summer, maintenance of roads should be up to 100% completed, but currently, it is only at 22%.
Commissioners say a meeting held early in June allowed other district four commissioners to strategize on ways to improve the roads in years to come.
“So the conversation continues, and we hope to begin the process of planning what could happen in the next two, three, five, ten years to be able to get back on track, make the improvements, and get things to where they really should be and then be able to maintain that,” said Dave Price, County Commissioner.
County commissioners from District 4 will hold another meeting in mid-August to continue the discussion of concerns on the roads throughout the counties.
