Tuesday was the Salvation Army Angel Tree distribution for Monongalia, Preston, and Marion Counties.
Leading up to Christmas, contributors remove tags from angel trees and purchase appropriate gifts for the children described on the tags.
Nearly 200 kids in the Morgantown area will receive gifts through this program this year.
Gifts are purchased for newborn up to age 12. Teenagers receive sheet sets as well.
“The community of Morgantown has been excellent in actually picking those angels off of the tree in those different locations and buying the clothing and the toys for the kids. So it’s going to be a merry and bright Christmas for the kids that have signed up for the angel tree program,” said Nicole Greenland, Salvation Army Lieutenant.
Red kettles will be out until Christmas Eve, and the Salvation Army asks for your continued support.
