The Sri Lanka Students Association of WVU held a memorial in Woodburn Circle Monday afternoon to remember the victims of the Easter Sunday bombings in that country.

Signs of support and mini Sri Lankan flags were posted throughout campus and students also wrote messages of support and lit memorial candles.

Guest speakers at Monday’s event included Dean of Students, Dr. Corey Ferris.

“We wanted to remember them and we want to show we need peace and we need harmony and the peace and harmony among the different nationalities as well as different religions,” said Sri Lanka Students Association President Mario Mendis. “So, we want to show that its really important.  So, we want to give that message to the world and the WVU community as well.”

Some students told 12 News that they even lost friends in the terror attack.
