Wednesday, the Suncrest Towne Center Kroger in Morgantown celebrated the completion of its remodeling project.
As part of the renovation, the 81,000 square foot store now features an old gold and blue Mountaineer color scheme throughout the store. A newly expanded Mountaineer Headquarters will offer apparel, housewares and tailgate supplies.
Some other updates include a Starbucks kiosk, and a growler bar. Additionally, the store will feature more hot food options, like Mexican street food and the Chicken Company.
The store manager said the company is thankful for the gracious customers who have been patient throughout the construction.
“It’s been almost a nine-month, $5.1 million investment in the Morgantown area and they have been tremendous to us and very loyal. We did this all for them and we’re just glad to have, to be able to have this behind us and let them be able to do their shopping,” said Terry Lucas, store manager.
As a result of the remodel, the Suncrest Towne Center Kroger created 40 new jobs and employs approximately 240 associates.
