Suncrest United Methodist Church provides day care during teacher work stoppage

Monongalia and Preston

The Suncrest United Methodist Church in Morgantown is providing childcare during the teacher work stoppage.

There is no fee for the service and staff and volunteers will be watching the children at the church from 7:30 am To 5:30 pm.

Throughout the day the kids will take part in many activities.

Thursday, children did a service project for Parkland High School in Florida, along with crafts, games, and movies.

Free lunch is provided.

“I’m just really overwhelmed by the response we got from volunteers. A lot of the teachers donated their time as well. Church members also donated products in their time, so it’s really been a great thing that the community came together to pull off. We’re really proud of all of our people,” said Yvonne Lee, Children and Youth Ministries Director.

They are limited to 100 students and it is recommended to text 304-282-1104.
