Monongalia and Preston

The Morgantown Area Partnership (MAP) has named a new president and CEO.

MAP is a new alliance entity in the greater Morgantown community that combines four local organizations.

This includes the Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce, the Monongalia County Development Authority, Campus Neighborhood Revitalization Corp (Sunnyside Up) and the Morgantown Economic Partnership.

The hire of Russel Rogerson was made because of his impressive 18-year-career of leading a variety of economic development organization in North Carolina.

“I think this community has never seen an economic development professional like himself, with his experience, and so I think that, from this day forward, we will be very excited about the business interest that will be recruited to this area,” said Terri Cutright, COO of the Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce.

As the president and CEO for Iredell County Economic Development Authority in North Carolina, Rogerson announced 30 projects that invested more than 227 million into the community and provided more than 1,500 jobs.
