Saturday, August 11, the Shack Neighborhood House will be hosting the 6th annual All American Family Festival.
This is a free family event that will include bounce houses, exotic animals and face painting among many other activities.
One of the highlights is the duck race, where more than 2,000 rubber ducks will be dropped off of the Star City Bridge into the Monongahela River.
Ducks are ‘adopted’ and proceeds go toward either The Shack Neighborhood House, or the Connecting Link.
Before the festival begins, participants can take part in the ‘Quack Mile Run’ which is for all ages.
Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 best costumes.
“This is a great time for families to just come out and have a good time. It’s an opportunity to make really good memories and just spend time together before the school year starts,” said Tia Lasporgara, of Shack Neighborhood House.
The event will be held at the Edith B. Barill Riverfront Park in Star City.
