Viking Pro Performance holds Summer Raid Competition

Monongalia and Preston

This weekend, Viking Pro Performance hosted its Summer Raid competition at their location on Greenbag Road.

Saturday, the competition consisted of the powerlifting portion with squats, bench press, and dead lifts.
Sunday was the Strongman Highlander competition.

Proceeds from this event will go toward sending a team to Scotland for Castle Mey Games.

The Mey games are a fundraiser for UK veterans put on by the Royal British Legion of Scotland.

“It’s a high. You’ve got all of these people from all over the place who are just strong as hell and just go at it, just as intense as you do, so it’s pretty intense, it’s awesome,” said Katie O’connor, athlete at Viking Pro Performance.

More than 60 competitors took part in the event on Sunday.
