West Virginia teachers are in Morgantown for the annual Student Success Summit.
More than 440 teachers were expected to attend, with more than 50 professional development sessions being held.
The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission is also unveiling the ‘West Virginia’s Climb’ campaign, with a goal by 2030 to get 60 percent of residents with a certificate or degree.
“It’s the first time we’ve ever done this as far as an attainment goal. And so, this is the beginning of an adventure over the next 10 years or so to see if we can really make a difference in the state for not only our students, but for the state of West Virginia,” said Carolyn Long of the WV Higher Education Policy Commission.
The conference will wrap up Thursday, July 26 at the Morgantown Mariott.
