West Virginia University holds bell ringing ceremony in remembrance of student

MORGANTOWN W.Va - West Virginia Vniversity held a bell ringing ceremony this afternoon in remembrance of student, Anthony Cistaro.

He was a 19 year old accounting major from Clarksburg.

He died on September 27th.

The event was coordinated by the Office of Campus and Community Life, and Alpha Phi Omega ,  a national service fraternity.

Cistaro's family and a large crowd of students gathered for the ceremony.

"We may not know each student personally, but it really is a hit to the university when we lose a student, so we take this time to honor their presence on this campus, to allow people to come and speak about them if they want to share experiences and it's just a time for us to let the families come, be a part of the campus, as we remember their sons and daughters," said Kim Mosby, senior associate dean of students.

A special plaque from President Gee was presented to Cistaro's family, representing the contributions Anthony has made to the university.
