WV Alzheimer's Association host community forum

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Residents from Monongalia and surrounding counties were invited to take part in a community forum Thursday night on Alzheimer’s Disease.

The forum was held at the Morgantown Alzheimer’s Association location in Morgantown and provided an opportunity for resident to come together and ask questions about the disease, share their personal experiences, and learn about available resources. The mission of the Alzheimer’s Association is to eliminate the disease through the advancement of research while providing and enhancing care and support for all affected by the disease.

“This is a forum that is, basically what can we do for you? We have support groups, we have the helpline, we have many networking resources available,” said Maria Mancuso, Program coordinator for West Virginia Alzheimer’s Association.

The Alzheimer’s Association says community forums is a great way to bring together families affected by the disease with dedicated staff and volunteers to open up conversations. If you would like to learn about additional resources, you can call the 24-hour hotline at 1-800-272-3900 to learn more.
