Several members of WVU Athletics teams took time out of their day to ring bells for the salvation army on Friday.
This was to support efforts of fundraising for the Red Kettle Campaign.
Money raised during the campaign is used to provide food, shelter, and social services to those in need throughout the year.
Athletes from women’s basketball, cross country, and soccer, among others, rang bells at the Patteson Kroger all day.
“And this is one of the things that we love to have. Volunteers. We encourage anyone who is interested to come and volunteer, to do just that to come and help us. We have a few weeks left. We end on December 21, so if you’re interested to volunteer, please come on out and volunteer for us,” said Lieutenant Sheldon Greenland of the Salvation Army.
To become a volunteer you can contact the Salvation Army at 304-296-3525.
