The ‘American Red Cross’ regularly holds blood drives that are hosted at different locations.

New blood donors are needed everyday to save the lives of patients who depend on volunteers.

The West Virginia University Rec Center hosted its monthly blood drive on Thursday.

This encourages its student population to donate.

The drive helps the surrounding community and nation.

“We have a great resource here which is West Virginia University. Students are always willing to help, always looking to go that extra mile to help those in need, not just in their backyard, but throughout the country and the world,” said Benjamin Orendorff, Operation and Events Manager at the WVU Rec Center.

The ‘American Red Cross’ has a set quota of 40 pints of blood for every drive.
